Overview
A method aimed at generating ideas for various themes such as new product development and event planning. By having team members each play different roles and examine the design subject from those perspectives, you can generate diverse ideas. *Examples of roles: children, foreigners, elderly people, etc.

Steps
- 1
Set the design subject in advance.

- 2
With 6-7 members including a leader, set up character roles and situations related to the design subject. Set detailed characteristics for each role including gender, age, occupation, lifestyle, etc. Also set up the situation (time, place, actions, etc.).

- 3
Each member plays their assigned role and freely extracts new design elements related to the design subject while imagining feelings when acting in their character's situation.

Tips & Tricks
In the Casting Method, when playing roles, it is important not to be too fixated on the role itself and to think freely and spontaneously.
The leader should create an atmosphere where each member playing a role can relax and enjoy the performance.
