Overview
A method for obtaining means and measures for problem-solving or clarifying improvement targets by branching out considerations at key points.

Steps
- 1
Set the design goal in advance. Express the design goal as 'In order to do X...' Also clearly state constraints related to the goal.

- 2
Extract related design elements necessary to achieve the goal and write these as primary means on cards in black.

- 3
Place the goal at the left center of poster paper. Arrange primary means above and below it on the right side and connect them with temporary lines.

- 4
After extracting primary means necessary for goal achievement, similarly extract secondary and tertiary means necessary to achieve those, placing them to the right. Continue multi-level development until reaching implementable means while maintaining purpose/means relationships between upper/lower level means.

Tips & Tricks
When expressing goals on cards, express them concisely so that anyone can accurately understand the intent.
Once the goal is determined, confirm the higher-level purpose for which the goal was selected and accurately understand the problems to be solved.
