A method aimed at ideation based on patterns of challenges and solutions found in existing patents.
Steps

Set the product challenge as the design subject in advance.

Extract the characteristic you want to improve and other characteristics that may deteriorate as a result of the improvement.

Refer to the matrix listing 40 inventive principles (solution patterns) corresponding to the extracted improving and worsening parameters to obtain inventive principles for that combination of challenges.

Generate ideas for problem-solving based on the inventive principles obtained in STEP 2.
Tips & Tricks
Since the TRIZ Method assumes a long-term ideation process, it is suited for times when there is ample time or when intensive ideation is desired.
